Inaugural Clinical Contract Advisory Committee Brings Clinicians and Procurement Professionals Together
Earlier this year, HealthPRO brought together member clinicians and procurement professionals from across the country for the inaugural meeting of the newly formed Clinical Contract Advisory Committee (CCAC).
What would typically have been achieved across multiple committees, meetings and webinars was amalgamated into a single, highly successful event. “By listening to our members, HealthPRO learned that the best contracts are created when both procurement and clinical teams work side-by-side,” notes Jeff Sparks, HealthPRO’s Director, Member Support.
During the meeting, committee members engaged in strategic collaboration to provide input into contract strategy, develop clinical criteria and perform hands-on product validations for HealthPRO Clinical Services contracts.
“This new format gives us a great opportunity to learn from each other and to benchmark to ensure we are following best practices for patients,” says Bonnie Rainey, Clinical Liaison, Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management, Alberta Health Services. “It also gives us a better perspective of the whole process.”
The next CCAC meeting, slated for November 2018, is predicted to be equally successful as the committee continues to develop.
